WH Barrs & Son Limited is 70 years young in July 2026!

Back in 1956, Embroidery was manufactured without automated machines. It was manual and time consuming. 
Demand grew in the 1960’s bringing automation. and as our Company pioneered and embraced new processes, the 1970’s and 80’s brought electronics to our story. Fast forward to the present day and we are using advanced computerisation and the beginnings of AI.

However, one constant during all of the innovations that we have seen over the last 70 years is the need for a needle some thread and a bobbin.

So to the companies and the private individuals that have joined us on this journey – the Schools, Fashion, Music and Film Industries – Sports companies and businesses including F1, Premier League Clubs, International Rugby, World Tour Golf, Touring Cars – The NHS, Charities, Private Clubs and Societies and many more, we take this time to thank you all for your custom and support over the last 70 years.
